The end to a snazzy year

A snazzy semester (filled with shenanigans) has passed, and it is time to conclude this blog.

Final Exam:

1: what project I've learned the most from: considering that I was a total scrub at Art before I took this class, it's kinda hard to pin down a single project I learned the most from. I would would narrow it down to the pastel portrait, the painting, and Photoshop, as those seem to be my most successful projects.

2: The Most relevant project: since I doubt that I'll painting again, I would most likely say learning about Photoshop, since that's a skill that is applicable in many situations. Also, I'm planning on taking computer art so, learning about Photoshop helps there too.

3: The project of least value was most likely the fish print, since they didn't really turn out well, and it is not an art form i'd be interested in pursuing.

This is most likely the last post on this blog, but I'll probably have a computer art blog next year.

Snazz-Ox(en)

In art class, we did some painting shenanigans. These shenanigans consisted of the use of acrylic paint, brushes, and a canvas. My painting was of some oxen chillin' like villains in a flowery field. It turned out to be ~9 times more snazzy than I would of thought.

I kinda want some piranhas now

Admit it. Piranhas are awesome. However, contray to public belief, Piranhas aren't the murder-machines everyone thinks they are. They are actually quite shy when in small numbers. but most importantly, YOU CAN GET THEM AS PETS!!! So this summer, I'm thinking about aquiring myself some toothy friends.

Why hello there, Mr. Piranha.

Waka Waka Waka Waka...

In Art class we did some localized perspective shenanigans with some tape, so it it makes things seem like they are floating. Our group did a pacman ghost. a pink fill effect was added via photoshop.

Pasteles!

We did some oil pastel drawings of some canadian peeps from OPEX. I got some dude with a hat. I messed up an eye so I gave him an eyepatch. One thing went to another, and he became the notorious Captain Jamal, whose hobbys include piratin' music, freebootin', hanging out in dark alleys, and takin' some booty.
Actually turned out pretty well, I'm surprised. I think I overshaded the hat a bit though

Brick killed a guy! With a trident!

We did some stencils in art class. I did Brick from Anchorman. He killed a guy! with a trident!
(I've been meaning to talk to him about it, maybe he should lie low for a little while...)

I totally want one of these guys!

When I was in Vancouver last Summer, I saw these guys at the aquarium. I now know that they are called Garden Eels, and I really want one. Heard they're hard to take care of though.

I'm drawing a car and wearing a hat!

We are doing a shading assignment in class, where we trace a picture and shade it. My frist attempt was a turtle, but it didn't end up so well. So now I'm doing a car, since those are much easier. It's finished, I just don't have a picture of it to show. Here's a picture of me art-ing:

That hat is really warm, by the way.

Angler Fish Hand Attack!

In class we talked about Guido Daniels, who made animals by painting people's hands. We simulated Guido's work by making plaster hands and painting the crap out of them. Here's my attempt:
If you're wondering what the crap that is, it's supposed to be an angler fish, you know, this guy:

Looking back, I should have posed my hands differently, but oh well.

The First Post!

Hello there! I am Max McMahon, and you've stumbled across my art-oriented blog! Blog creation is a part of the course work for my Visual Arts I class, so, here it is. On this site, you'll get to expierence my meanderings, random thoughts, and pictures of my attempts to make something that resembles art.
¡Hasta Luego!
